Morte Incandescente – "Vala Comum" (Signal Rex, 2021)       

 

A cena nacional de Black Metal continua a sua triunfal caminhada até ao Olimpo do Black Metal – o que quer que isso seja – e esta dupla, que "alimenta" o nosso Underground com uma imensidão de projectos, vem mais uma vez fortalecê-lo. Menos falado que muitos outros nomes, quiçá pela descrição com que primam a sua própria caminhada, NH e Vulturius serão, na minha humilde opinião, dois dos pilares estruturais do Black Metal que cá dentro se faz. Do Black Metal mais tradicional, a ataques de esquizofrenia musical, a ritmos arrastados e alucinogénios, a criação musical destes dois senhores sobressai pela qualidade.

Morte Incandescente será dos meus projectos preferidos de Black Metal, dentro e fora das nossas fronteiras. Um trabalho como "… Relembrando um Túmulo Esquecido", que conta já com 11 anos, é um tratado de Black Metal. Um álbum que emana degredo e decadência até mais não. De um forma imensamente estranha, sempre os coloquei na mesma sintonia que uns Mütiilation (descobri que o Metal-Archives pensa o mesmo… ok, opinião validada então LOL). Não tanto a nível de som, mas no sentido da emoção que me transmite, pessoalmente, e o álbum referido acaba por me remeter para uma paisagem de betão, decadente e morta. Estranho, direis.

"Vala Comum", pela Signal Rex, é o regresso aos álbuns, depois de um Split (com Illum Adora) e uma Demo. E que regresso? É engraçado ver que todos estes anos, todos os projectos em que cada um dos músicos trabalhou, aventuras e experiências, levaram a este trabalho. Dizer que soa a Morte Incandescente não será de todo difícil, mas ao mesmo tempo poderemos afirmar que o aroma não é totalmente o mesmo. "Cerra os Dentes", primeira mostra deste trabalho (creio não estar equivocado), mantém aquela melodia que tão associo a Morte Incandescente, mas traz algo diferente, algo que não encaixaria, de imediato, no som da banda. Mas a verdade é que já desisti de saber que esperar destes dois, e Morte Incandescente acaba por ser isso mesmo: um turbilhão de sonoridades que orbitam em redor do Black Metal. O refrão desta malha, é fortíssimo, é curto, é estalo na tromba… mas é tão bem colocado que dá uma outra intensidade à mesma. Não me canso de dizer que o Black Metal cantado na língua portuguesa tem uma profundidade que a língua inglesa não consegue atingir! Prove me wrong.

É muito curioso como ambos os músicos sabem – creio que saber será o verbo correcto – a que "deve" soar Morte Incandescente, e que não soa a IRAE, nem a Corpus Christii, nem a Coldness (PORRA, UM REGRESSO), nem a Vetala, nem ao raio que parta! Morte Incandescente soa a Morte Incandescente, ainda que aqui também soe a Thrash e a Heavy Metal… ou então é Morte Incandescente eheheh "O Uivo da Noite", AAAAAH! Heavy Fucking Metal… do Satanás! Aquela riffalhada Thrash. Vá, levante o dedo aquele que estava à espera desta, ah? Até o título tresanda a bom Heavy Thrash Metal… Mercufyl Fate e o camandro ahahah mas aquelas vocalizações do Vulturius, a rasgar, aqueles ocasionais riffs mais gélidos e nórdicos… Morte Incandescente, porra!

Que mais? Nada. Nocturnus Horrendus e Vulturius mostram-nos, uma vez mais, que são os patrões desta porra toda. Que N projectos surgem, aqui e ali, ontem e hoje, mas que quando estes dois informam a malta, que vão editar algo, o pessoal começa de pingar (se calhar sou só eu…), e se for Morte Incandescente, então é certo (aqui sou mesmo eu)!

Morte Incandescente - "Vala Comum" (Signal Rex, 2021)                        

The Portuguese Black Metal scene continues its triumphant journey towards the Olympus of Black Metal – whatever that may be – and this duo, which "feeds" our Underground with a multitude of projects, comes to strengthen it once again. Less talked about than many other names, perhaps because of the description with which they excel in their own journey, NH and Vulturius are, in my humble opinion, two of the structural pillars of Black Metal that is made in Portugal. From the more traditional Black Metal, to attacks of musical schizophrenia, to dragging and hallucinogenic rhythms, the musical creation of these two gentlemen stands out for its quality.

Morte Incandescente will be one of my favorite Black Metal projects, inside and outside our borders. A work like "… Relembrando  um Túmulo Esquecido", which is already 11 years old, is a Black Metal dissertation. An album that emanates decay and decay even more so. In an immensely strange way, I always put them on the same wavelength as Mütiilation (I found out that Metal-Archives think the same… ok, validated opinion then LOL). Not so much in terms of sound, but in the sense of emotion that it conveys to me personally, and the aforementioned album ends up reminding me of a landscape of concrete, decaying and death. Strange, you will say.

"Vala Comum", by Signal Rex, is the return to albums, after a Split (with Illum Adora) and a Demo. In addition, what return? It is funny to see that all these years, all the projects that each of the musicians worked on, adventures and experiences, led to this work. Saying that it sounds like Morte Incandescente will not be difficult at all, but at the same time we can say that the aroma is not quite the same. "Cerra os Dentes", the first sample of this work (I don't think I'm wrong), maintains that melody that I so associate with the band, but brings something different, something that I wouldn't immediately fit the band's sound. However, the truth is that I have given up on knowing what to expect from these two, and Morte Incandescente turns out to be just that: a whirlwind of sounds that orbit around Black Metal. The chorus of this mesh is very strong, it is short, it is a slap on the face… but it is so well placed that it gives it another intensity. I never get tired of saying that Black Metal sung in Portuguese has a depth that the English language cannot reach! Prove me wrong.

It is very curious how both musicians know – I think knowing will be the correct verb – what Morte Incandescente should sound like, and that it does not sound like IRAE, or Corpus Christii, or Coldness (FUCKING, A RETURN), or Vetala, or whatever! Morte Incandescente sounds like Morte Incandescente, although here it also sounds like Thrash and Heavy Metal… or is it Morte Incandescente? Eheheh "O Uivo da Noite", AAAAAH! Heavy Fucking Metal… by Satan! That Thrash riff. Come on, raise your finger the one who was waiting for this one, ah? Even the title stinks of good Heavy Thrash Metal… Mercufyl Fate and the fuck ahahah but Vulturius' vocal, ripping, those occasional frostier and Nordic riffs… Morte Incandescente, fuck!

What else? Nothing. Nocturnus Horrendus and Vulturius show us, once again, that they are the bosses of this whole shit. Various projects come up, here and there, yesterday and today, but when these two inform the guys that they're going to edit something new, people start dripping (maybe it's just me...), and if it's Morte Incandescente, then it's right (here it really is me)!
