Although as an introvert living outside of the most urban areas, life has not changed as dramatically for me as it has for many others during this strange time. We have been able to stay safe and continue working. In fact, it has been a very productive period for me and for Vemod. You complete, this year, 21 years of existence. Your discography, by comparison, is a bit sparse compared to the band’s life. Is there any reason, in 21 years, for just 1 Album, 1 Split and 2 Demos?   The reasons are manifold. Urgeist - Nature & Man Thank you very much, first of all, for the opportunity. Let me start by asking you what is the concept behind Urgeist? How was this entity born, which lives in Folk and Black Metal? URGEIST was born out of the will doing my own musical thing, and not being dependent on permanent cooperation with other musicians, cause all my Black Metal Bands till then failed somehow. I also had a Neo Folk Solo Project called RATATÖSKR back then, which didn’t fit anymore to my aspirations of creativity. This brought me to combine my passion for Mid 90’s Black Metal and Neo Folk. Mons Veneris – “Inversados d’Um Abismo de Podridão” (Signal Rex, 2022)   (originally written for Black Metal Daily)   I believe it is with a bit of expectation that one awaits the release of a new Mons Veneris record. Mons Veneris has never been a linear Artists. His Music has never followed a strict, and predictable, line. Maybe that is what fascinates people the most. The fact that we can get an Atmospheric, or a Black Metal release, and even then, it might not sound like his previous Atmospheric and Black Metal endeavors. Sick World we live in, right?
